Philadelphia Country Club is a country club located in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County (postal address: 1601 Spring Mill Road, Gladwyne, Pennsylvania 19035). It has a golf course, pool, shooting range, squash, tennis, and paddle courts, a bowling alley, and a main building that will be discussed later. The golf course hosted the U.S. Open in 1939. The golf department has an 18-hole golf course as well as a 9-hole golf course added in 1990 to celebrate the club's one hundredth anniversary. The 9-hole golf course is called the "Centennial" and the main golf course is called the "Spring Mill". The club has two practice areas. The main area features a putting green, driving range, and a second green that you can practice chipping onto. The second practice area features a practice hole, driving range, and practice putting green. The golf area is just one area of the club, however. In its center is the main building, which has two restaurants. The formal restaurant is called the "Mill Room". The more casual dining room is called the "Grill Room". Also, during the warmer time of year, there is also the option to dine outside on the "Terrace". There are also four rooms that can be reserved for parties and other events. The main building also has a fitness center, locker rooms, and the golf pro shop. There are two other buildings at "PCC", the squash building and the pool building. The pool building is also home to the tennis pro shop and a small eating area for swimmers. The pool is Olympic-sized and ranges in depth from three to six feet. There is also a baby pool for small children. There are eight tennis courts at PCC as well as three paddle courts. The squash building has three singles courts and two doubles courts. It also has a bowling alley with six lanes and a room that can be rented for private events.
